We Recognize the Importance of Service to Others.
When Sharlene first visited Pinehurst she knew it would be home. She has great affection for people of North Carolina, the culture, and the trees. After deciding to settle down after 17 years of moving across the country with her military family, it was clearly the right time and the right place to open her law practice. In 2017 she took and passed her third bar exam here in the great state of North Carolina, 18 years after taking and passing her first bar exam in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Sharlene is also licensed to practice law in Utah.
Sharlene has a depth of legal experience in the corporate and business world, but her passion has always been helping people avoid and mitigate conflict and pain. To this end, she has decided to concentrate her practice in the areas of Estate and Elder Law, Business Transaction and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Her commitment to you as a client is that you will have an attorney at your side that is dedicated to making your life a little easier, your business run a little smoother, your concerns a little less poignant and your burdens a little bit lighter. Her talent is finding and crafting solutions for you and your family to end any battles you are waging and prevent battles in your future.
Sharlene graduated from Brigham Young University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1999 she graduated from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University. From there, she went to work as Government Relations Counsel at Novell, Inc. in Washington, D.C. After her time with Novell, she opened her own practice as a sole practitioner, working with clients both corporate and individual, until she decided to concentrate on her growing family and frequent military moves. During this time she also volunteered with the Family Readiness Groups while her husband was deployed to various points across the globe.
Sharlene has three amazing teenaged children, of whom she couldn’t be more proud. In her spare time, she is the Team Leader for the Pinehurst chapter of Days for Girls International. Days for Girls is a non-profit organization providing sustainable feminine hygiene solutions and health education across the globe. She also is active in her church community and teaches the early morning bible study class for teenagers attending Pinecrest High School.
